Full moon tonight, saw a few hairy people running around outside![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
.........but decided to try and snap the moon instead. Using a fairly crap bit of glass for this sort of thing but still came out better than i expected.

Just clicking away in the std option is always easy. Taking good photo's is a learning proces. Some are faster then others. Its not just pushing the button. Sometimes i think that most people just buy a slr and think that they can make good pics.

As for mastering the techniques and settings, this will take years of practice if you ever actually do, but to start taking decent photos and learn the basic principles shouldnt take too long, all depends on the individuals ability, creativity and how much they read and take in imo.
Just remember there are loads of websites out there with free information on anything you could possibly get stuck on or not full understand, and that there is no rush, just get out there and enjoy the camera, things will fall into place sooner than you think. Go back to the early pages in this thread, lots of techniques and hints have been discussed already

Been messing around with some old photos this afternoon using a program called Photomatix Pro 3, the image was made using a single RAW file which was then converted and tone mapped using Photomatix. Im pretty happy with the result apart from the washed out clouds ![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Tone mapping is so addictive Ben! If the sky doesnt float your boat Id just blend the old one over it and give it a bit of a contrast boost or maybe even a grad over it to help bring it into the same style as the taxi, sorry, saphire.
