EFE and ring road trip 2008 Lots of pictures 2nd half added 19/09/08
This is a write up of our trip to the dutch rs show and on to the ring after ,please come back to the thread now and agian over the next few days as i update it.
We were meeting up at lakeside services at 6pm on sat eve for the ferry at dover,we were booked on the train but had to rebook because of the fire .
the trip consisted of the follwing cars
my s2 turbo
steve, with mks old car with steves 1900 turbo
dan and dan in the saff cossie
alan and debbie in the focus
mark and steve in marks crayford cortina 2.0l v6
warren in the blue thing
Got into france at about midnight and started on the drive to Landgraaf we normally book in the hotel for the sat but it was fully booked so we though we would drive through the night as we was in the hotel for sunday,we arrived there about 4am and pitched up the tents and got to sleep ,woke up about 8am it was bloody freezing ,dan and alan popped off to find a coffee shop ,but with no luck.
With us all up we drove to the queue for the show .
Once we was in we parked up and had a good look round picking up some nice bargains.
As you can see from the weather it was probably the best at a show this year just a little chilly
After the show we drove to the hotel and booked in for the night showered and had a very nice meal a few games of pool and off to bed
Up early on monday checked out and gave the cars a quick look over to make sure every thing was ok
Then it was back on the road destination "ring"
One of the fuel stops on the way
Few tunnels to get some exhaust noise through
Getting near now
To be continued

Once we arrived at the ring we started to have a look about and noticed a familar sight
This was on track and sounded amazing
Went a bit snap happy with the camera
Wrapped not painted
Took a drive to one of the many spectator pionts
Have seen this before and was very quick on track
This was going well
After leaving dan at the petrol station (real tears ) we went back and got him and went for another look about.
This bike came out on to the road and lost it skidded down the road biker was ok it was over for a mag shoot
More soon

Ok on to the second installment of the trip,as it looked like it may rain we headed out for a lap
Driven it before a few times but never in the turbo and i must say was really pleased with how it went ,the only downside was my disks now need a skim as i was suffering from them juddering half way round ,if they was ok i would have gone out again ,steve went out in the fiesta ,again and alan and debbie went out in the st.
With time pushing on we went back to the gasthaus ,showered and went out for dinner ,only one place to haed really
With that we went back and got a good nights sleep ready for the trip home ,we booked on a late afternoon ferry so we could stay in the area in the morning as there was somr prototype test going on
Filling up before we leave
Thought we would get some arty pics
Meet up with our friend Ravi in his evo who was out for the weekend,he did four laps which used a tank of fuel.
Watched some of the testing
New 4 door porsche
Merc
New gtr ,this was soooooooooooooo quick
New bmw 7 ,brake lights were cool as they pulsed off and on
Then it was time to make our way back ,Alan and Debbie left earlier as they had to get back so we had ravi to take there place with the evo.
Quick break on the way back and a check over the cars.
Back in Calais ready for the ferry
In total 840 miles cars did not miss a beat was a fantastic weekend rool on next year

Awsome Twins, really gutted I missed it this year, could not have been avoided But how the hell did you manage 850 miles?!?!?!?! I did exactly the same thing last year and and did 1,500 miles without including 8 laps of the Ring!!!
Did anyone get some racing in at the EFE???? Any nice video's? I couldn't get enough of free drag races!

Still doesn't make up the millage But by fuck, was it an awsome experience. Will be going way before September next year though, want to go when its hot for a change...or the very least, when there's some nice snow everywhere. Then we'll head for Switzerland for some "arty" shots as you said
Want to do Hockenheim and Spa next time though
