I wasn't around at the time, well, I was but being 3 yrs old I never really formed much of an opinion on this accident. 
...it's a shame they didn't look at the factors which caused the accident and look at ways to make the sport safer that way, rather than pulling the plug completely.

possibly, stupid fucking portugeeze smack heads jumping in the way of cars was the exact reason it was banned, the forest rallys over here was ban but half as bad as over that shit hole

yeah i agree with grant, they should never have been so quick to ban it, i recently bought a dvd to quick to race and still to quick to race, just gave a brief spec of each car from development to actual racing , very interesting and i enjoyed it, missus hated it , had loads of cars audis and lancia's pugs and 6r4s, had a section on cars that were developed and never fully raced like rs200
not long ago on motors tv on sky there was group b swansong from wales iirc also a great watch had fwd rwd n 4x4 cars was good

Fucking hell I was born in the wrong era, would love to have seen group b!
Would be great to see Loeb drive say a Audi Quattro down a stage at full chat and then his Ds3 and see A) which is fastest and B) if he could handle it

the protugal accident was only one issue with group b,
the rs200 bursting into flames and henri toivenen's horrific crash were what really caused the end, they were just to fast for there own good which was a real shame as it was the greatest era of rallying
