Porsche riviera blue EVO 6...56k no no
thought some over on www.passiondontcarewhatcaritis.com might like to see this little beast that i detailed yesterday:
yes, thats right an EVO that has had a bare metal respray in porsche riviera blue...
i detailed this car yesterday down at RC developments in warrington, and this is one of there customers cars that has just been completed. everything is brand new virtually on this car, suspension, brakes, and a 750bhp engine, all work was carried out by RC, and the build pics can be seen on their website. the car was originally yellow, but has had a bare metal respray in riviera blue as mentioned!
i was called in to detail it prior to a show this weekend, and upon arrival heard this beast pulled up, and to the untrained ear it would sound f***ed as the rattle that the twin plate carbon clutch makes when not engaged sounds worrying, but the noise it makes when on the move is incredible! and its still waiting on having its full sequential dog box installed, and also a roll cage and flocked dash...
so here is the beast when i arrived, paint looking a little flat and unreflective:
not too dirty, but in need of a clean! please note now that all those carbon bits you see are real carbon! the boot, bonnet, door skins, parcel shelf, rear wing, wing mirrors side skirts and prob some bits ive forgot are all real carbon fibre, and very very light!!
so i set about it in my usual fashion, wheels got megs wheel brightner 4:1, arches and tyres APC, then snow foamed with SSF and megs hyper, the rinsed, then washed with TBM and hyper with a mitt! then onto clay, and i broke out sonus green as i knew the contamination could not be that bad as the paint is only six weeks old.
so clayed then dried, then the heavens opened! not to worry, just pop it in the big garage amongst the other evos and other jap monsters:
old demo car:
so dried down again, then measured the thickness, now i knew this was a respray all over so the readings were never going to be much good, but this is single stage paint so i needed to kno i had a bit to play with, and showed all over to have a range of 200-350 microns all over the car. door shuts were showing 150 so i knew there was plenty of paint to play with!
so onto inspection:
swirling not the worst, but worse than i had expected, also some random spots of marring, but on the whole a very good respray from what i could tell!!
so on with the correction, chose menz FF first, didnt cut enough so went with 3.02 IP, this cut plenty, and left me LSP ready... which was nice! so proceded around the car with that, including all carbon fibre panels! after correction:
the car then got glazed with megs #7 show car glaze, then waxed with p21s. tyres got megs endurance, wheels poorboys wheel sealent, windows (rear windows and rear screen plastic windows) got ag glass polish, any black trim got ag plastic conditioner! full afters in the garage:
the engine bay then got an APC wipe down and any plastics treated to ag plastic conditioner, no befores as i forgot, but it wasnt that bad anyway, oh and thats what 750bhp looks like:
the exhaust also got wire wooled and polished, before:
after:
then the interior got a quick wipe down and hoover:
then one of the guys drove it out (no way i was doing it, plus i could only just get in the seats!) and parked it next to the companys new demo car, nice bright paint on this one RC also have another customer with a bright ORANGE one, the four look good parked next to each other! so some full outside afters of the blue one, next to the yellow one (yellow ones turbo even bigger than blue one and capable of over 1000bhp, front mounted exhaust! radiator in the rear, custom spaceframeish rear suspension, more carbon, etc, etc)
note the flappy padals:
right i think thats about it! oh and a prize goes to the one who can spot the cosmetic change to the BLUE evo from start to finish!! sorry soooo many pics, but it was such a beautiful car and such wonderful surroundings i got carried away!
comments as always welcomed...

How Much to do my Cosworth Escort
CraigoScott
Hi Fella, just looked at the evo you detailed and have to say looks amazing.
I have just taken hold of my fathers ecsort cosworth on a 93 k in radiant red. The car has been stood in the garage for the past 7 years and its my intention to make this car look like new again.
Please could you tell me on what this would cost to have done please.
Regards
Gareth

That is one cool looking evo the evo 6 has allways been my favorite evo of them all.
Will this run in the pro class of the time attack championship??
Who cares about the cleaning.
