I've had a good look around the car and am pritty sure its the gearbox mounts. The engine mount looks fine from what I can see. I've got some new gearbox mounts in the loft so will be fitting them fitted this w.end and then go from there.

I'm not too happy with Power Engineering though they've obviously been out giving my car some stick when I wasn't there. Chances are the mounts were on there way out anyway by the fact they have gone. But still, they have no right to go treating customers cars like that

I called Power Engineering today, but the guy I needed to speak to wasnt there. They havent been able to get hold of Martin at MEF to discuss the suspension bits n pieces yet. I'm tempted to just pick it all up and go see martin later in the year and get him to sort it all out for me as I have lost faith and trust in PE now

What companies does everyone dwn south use? The two closest ones to me are PE and MA Developments. Unfortunately MAD dont do servicing etc on RS Turbos. They mainly do evo's etc now. I've been to NMS & Motorsport Developments in the past and have been very happy with the service I got there. It's a little far for me to travel though

I've used* PE a few times when I worked near there in the late 90's. Perhaps the RS people have moved on, but I know there's a PF user who works there.

Hmm..Guzzler springs to mind: but might not be him
I'd get the bits fitted by MEF if you're not happy taking it back to PE Mike. At least they should know how it all fits together.

*Only had tuning work carried out by them. And they did the engine on the D plate Mike, so personally had no problems, but can't comment on the 'fitting' side of things as I haven't had that done.

SCC,
APT,
SCS.

Just to give you a few places to go off.

I think Guzzler has left PE but I might be wrong.

I know APT are miles away from me. Probably a 4 - 5hr drive. Not too sure about the other two

Took my car to my mates work (works for ford) and got the car up on the four poster to change the gearbox mounts. Had a quick look around underneath as you do and straight away spotted the problem!" wasn't the gearbox mounts at all...... there is a square tube/bar which runs between the two cast plates for the anti-roll bar etc. They had fitted this the wrong way round and was fouling on the exhaust down pipe. Explains all the vibrations and knocks etc. Anyway, its all sorted now.

I appologise for thinking Power Engineering had been abusing my car and although they had fitted it wrongly, it was quite an easy mistake to make so wouldn't want people to not use them anymore.

It was so obvious when it was up on the ramps. Just couldn't spot it when it was jacked up, doh!"

Mike....get your lazy arse in gear and fit the new suspension yourself... it'll only take you a day and at least you know its done right.

Just adjust it all up to the standard settings...fit it then get it set-up by a pro as and when!

I might do john..... although I do have a few other plans in the pipe line and hopefully will be purchasing the full MEF kit (rear arms, coilovers etc) so may just take a trip to MEF and get them to sort it all for me

Its confirmed!" I have checked the finances and I can just about afford the full kit I don't really fancy traveling all the way to Wigan to just get two items sorted. But feel its worth it if I get it all done in one go, and that way I know its done properly

Will post pics when Its all finished. Probably early next month!"
