First of all I love all the RS200,escort, sierra, sapphire cosworths. And some of the members cars would definately be one of my dreams cars. But I'm not as forunate as you guys. There's an 92 Escort Cosworth in Austalia selling for $90,000 and there is no way i could afford that, even if i had that money i'd probably buy something else.
I have a nice white MY00 WRX because it was the closest thing I could get to a cossie. If you guys are alright with this then I'll post pics of my car up...
$90,000AUD to clear things up, for a stock 92 or 94 (can't remember) Escort Cosworth. It's supposed to be in excellent condition and suit a collector. I'd hate to think how much it would cost to mod, insure and maintain them. For $90,000 you could get an R34 skyline GT-R and have some change left over for mods, so it would be pretty silly to purchase the Escos. I was also looking at buying a Sapphire Cosworth for $24,000 but comparing the '89 Sapphire to a '00 WRX at the same price I made the sensible choice. I don't think I'll ever own a Cossie unless I move to Europe or win the lottery
not a big fan of scoobys because they have chocolate pistons
those chocolate pistons and rods are 14quid for a rod and 22quid for a piston to the trade.....thats why they are shite
Nothing chocolate about them. An urban myth based on Imported Jap spec Subarus which are mapped for higher Ron Fuel being brought to the UK, run on lower octane UK fuel without a remap:- The cars then being driven as they should and melting pistons because of det.
The engine internals should be fine as long as you don't tuned them too hard and boost them too high. I'm running 240hp atw @ 1.4bar boost on the standard internals, and running 12.7sec over the 1/4 mile. I've had no trouble with my engine what so ever.
There have been a few harsh comments here but I was expecting that.
