Default Thread Removed or have I hit the wrong button ?

Dear people that answer questions in this area....

I put an advert up for a book I wrote on RS200's in the "anything else" section after upgrading to GOLD but unless I have done something wrong I think it has been deleted as I can't find it anywhere ?

I have messaged a MOD on that part of the site but nothing back yet.

I guessed this may be the right place to ask rather than just post again in case I am missing an important point.

Thanks,

Justin

Ive just had a look and yes its been removed, reason being you are an author trying to sell your books on this site, this is trading so the trade fee has to be paid
I hope this has answered your question

Really ? - That's trading !?

A passionate Ford RS200 owner writes a not-for-profit book, publishes and prints a limited run of 200 books for other owners/enthusiasts and that is a trader ?

I actually read the rules when I bought my GOLD membership and it said you could sell your own stuff so I thought that would be fine - Having just gone back and seen the definition of a trader it hardly fits what I have done but I guess if a MOD thinks it does then I suppose that's the end of it.

Sad though

That's a sweeping assumption and I take offence at the suggestion I wrote the book to sell to make money - That may be your view of life and peoples motivations and your assumption but you are wrong in this case.

I think the Inland Revenue would laugh if they saw what it cost me to become a publisher, buy ISBN numbers, proof and then print a small volume run of 200 books myself, ship them to myself, buy packing boxes and then split them up for sale on Ebay, take payment via Paypal then drive to a post office and send each one all over the world !

Disregarding ANY "time spent", "petrol to post" or free books that I gave to people that helped I would without doubt say that I am out of pocket but it was a labour of love and good fun (something I would have thought was with the theme of PassionFord to be honest) and I have done something rather than sit and watch some rubbish on TV as my wife finds great fun to do every night !

Anyway, I've exercised my right to reply, you think i'm a trader, I think im a private individual selling something - a difference of opinion it seems. we'll leave it at that.

well done, but you are missing the point,we cant have one rule for one and then change it for another, now if you was giving them away thats would be fine, but your charging,we dont know what your making and the fact is we dont care, others have tried to sell multipul items which have been removed
just beacsue your a private individual dosnt matter, your still selling multipul items, that is classed as trading
