However, that thread doesnt cover the subject of the specific differences between a profile infraction and a normal infraction from a reply on the forum at all, which is the question that was being asked IMHO.

I asked a mod what one is, this is the answer i got, i think he though i was asking what a infraction was, I know what one of those is, but i dont know what a 'profile infraction' is!

 

Indeed, similar to the response I got.

I asked what I had done wrong to the mod who gave me the "profile infraction", on the basis that without knowing what you have done wrong, how can you possibly hope not to do so again, given that I was genuinely unaware of any such wrongdoing on my part.

I got the reply that they didnt know why they gave me it either

 

Exactly, i got another infraction from taking the piss out of BM08, i dont know if this is related to that also, i got them both at exactly the same time too, one from stu which made perfect sence what i had dont wrong, it even quoted what i wrote, which is fair enough, but i also got another one from eagle just saying this!

I dont know what i have done wrong so how do i make sure i dont do it again?

Sorry, I am unsure precisely what you are asking. An infraction is an infraction. They are all the same and you received 2 from 2 seperate mods based on 2 seperate abusive posts in the same day.

 

He is asking what a "profile infraction" is and why he was given one, as he has been given one and has no idea why.

Ie was it given because he had an illegal sig, or because he had "stu smells" as his tagline under his name or whatever.

 

Am I to presume you didnt ask the moderator in question what you had done wrong?

 

In the case of myself, I asked the moderator who gave me a profile infaction for details of what for and the reply I received was that he didnt know

It was eagle who told me that he had no record of what I said to get an infraction, but he was sure it must have been something wrong, even though he couldnt remember what it was

Infractions are given out for people breaking the rules. Its very easy NOT to get any.

hope this helps ... seems like as stu stated 2 seperate moderators caught you doing it twice on the same thread ...

light hearted banter by you may not be seen as such by the other person, so if in doubt don't post it...


overall i do not point to specific tags or threads they are posted on as whoever reported them remains confidential, this might leave them open to further abuse from this report by th offender..
