Thanks for that, I must've missed your PM telling me?
It was a Genuine question about a car I don't own yet that wasn't even a ford and would not have been sold on here, what's the problem?

Tell me about it, it seems the "Rules" are getting a bit anal....I really can't be bothered with it TBH.

A moderator may PM you to inform you of a topic being moved to a more suitable forum but they are by no means obliged to

or might just be the mod who did it was a tad bit busy doing other stuff at the same time and possibly forgot

but have asked the question for you

Cheers, it wasn't moved it was deleted.
To my reccolection I have never sold anything on here and never will, it just takes the piss when a post like that gets deleted with no explanation??? I think it's only polite to send a PM or notification if you have time to delete it in the first place, otherwise I could just do it again.

Rog, its literally 2 clicks to delete threads and I was absolutely swamped this morning. I don't usually send a PM to be honest (nor do most mods) as it takes time to write out etc etc, but I'm sorry I didn't.

You're more than welcome to ask the value of a car, however:

A lot of people try to get round the rule above by posting a topic called "What’s it worth?" under the pretence that they are just wondering how much to sell it for. Due to the fact that such a member would receive many private messages about such an item for sale, we only allow this to happen in the Items for sale forums, which are of course plus members only areas.
Its only allowed in the cars for sale (or other relevant) room

And apologies again for my lack of communication

So what your saying is most of the mods just delete posts willy nilly, then can't be bothered to PM the author? How are people ever going to know what they have done wrong, without writing a post in here, which just wastes more time?

Maybe they could have a glance at the rules before asking, or even better, a grasp of them before posting?

And edited to add:

From the rules. Stu makes these, ask him to change them if its that important?
I understand a PM to Rog (or any user) would have nipped this in the bud though, and I will try to make time to do this in future.

If their is a sufficient room for the thread, why don't you move them? It really can't be much harder, if at all than deleting them. Whenever Tony has moderated my threads,he has sent me a PM telling me why. You say it takes time? The time spent writing your replies in this very thread, explaining would have done it. If you don't tell them, a thread will arise, again like this one, thus are left doing what you could have done to begin with.

Benni.

Fair point Benni, but I was swamped this morning and would have thought rog, a user for the past 6 years, would have seen threads like this, or maybe had this explained, or seen it explained before.

Good for Tony for PM'ing you.
