There was the All-blue [which there were 500 made] and the Tennis [not sure how many] and then the Summer [1989 - 1000 in acquarius blue, and 1000 in pink] but they were all mk4. There was also an All-white in 1988 with white leather interior [again I don't recall the numbers]
In Mk3, Ford did make an S1 body-kitted special edition, also called the All-white in 1985-86 on a C plate [and a few '86 D-plates]. I believe that there were 750 made. I happen to have one of these cars and on the logbook it is stampted "Escort 1.6 Cabriolet SE".
Not worth much in cash, but worth more in terms of sentimental value.

But anyway, some of the later cabbies with low milage and in mint condition can still go for just over a k (got my H reg with 30k on it for £1100) But typical price for em seems to be about 400-800 mark.

I'm not going to dispute your point, but all of the Ford literature that I've seen has never referred to the mk3 SE as SE500, purely because there were 750 produced - not 500, which is a common misconception - caused by confusion with the mk4 all-blue which there were only 500 produced.
Anyway, I don't want to come across as a stats-dweeb, or something... but during my time owning 2 special edition cabriolets I'd done a bit of research about each model and found all kinds of useless information about them.
