Yep my friend has one (Bazza Wade on here), but according to 90% of insurers the mk3 escort cab never came with a S1 bodykit, but lo and behold, my friend has one. He had to get the brochure with a picture of it for em to believe him
But anyway, some of the later cabbies with low milage and in mint condition can still go for just over a k (got my H reg with 30k on it for £1100) But typical price for em seems to be about 400-800 mark.
As I said - I actually do own a "Mk3 Escort Cabriolet SE", but to refer to it as SE500 is inaccurate.
I'm not going to dispute your point, but all of the Ford literature that I've seen has never referred to the mk3 SE as SE500, purely because there were 750 produced - not 500, which is a common misconception - caused by confusion with the mk4 all-blue which there were only 500 produced.
Anyway, I don't want to come across as a stats-dweeb, or something... but during my time owning 2 special edition cabriolets I'd done a bit of research about each model and found all kinds of useless information about them.
