Hello everyone I hope someone can help. I have a 56 plate Ka style with the 1.3 duratec, and having seen a few Ka's with RS turbo and zetec engines transplanted, I am seriously thinking of a similar project, The Duratec is in great condition with only 30k but is just not up to planned track days etc (used to have a Alfa GTV which was ok but was always needing money thrown at it) Any way my question is will the escort/fiesta gearbox be ok or will I have to adapt the Ka's gearbox to fit either a cvh or zetec?
If a Escort or Fiesta gearbox is ok will the Ka drive shafts have to be swapped as well?

I believe the puma 1.7 engine will fit in without to much trouble!

 

Have a word with Alistair, Wide Ka on here.

He has a 1.6 Zetec-SE in his Ka, using Ka box in a Fiesta bell housing.

 

Duratec i think can mount to the ib5, but id prefer an mtx with is for strength.

The easier by far option is to use a CVH/ZVH/Zetec

gearbox you can use ka box but anything over 200bhp you need to uprate like i am
you cant have power steering unless u have a zetec engine as pump wont fit
best engine to use is a fiesta lumb and loom
im using a escort stage 3 head with a 2.1 zetec bottom end
for my management im getting it mapped by jamsport
