Hi guys you seem to know your stuff, just got back into owning a ford again and like yourselves I have opted for the 1989 escort bonus, I was wondering if there was a straight forward engine swap that I could do that would bolt straight in on the original mounts? It currently has a 1.3 cross flow engine in. Any info would be great fully received.

Ok thanks mate I will double check, car hasn't been delivered yet for me to take my own pics but I do have pics from eBay, when I figure out how to put them up I will do.

When you buy a turbo engine just buy a cvh engine mount at the same time the pick up points are the same across the shells so the mount will bolt straight to your inner wing.

That's great thank you for clearing that up for me, I'll be buying a turbo engine soon and rebuilding it, pics will be up as soon as I source one.

My 89 1.4L this was how i got it.Came on 14" Sierra 4x4 rims-3 spoke Rs wheel-drilled front discs.
Managed to find a good pair of 90 spec Recaro's & also fitted matching rear seat-just got to source a set of door cards in grey.
Finally got round to fitting the 15" Mondeo 'spare' steels painted in Ford Strato silver
Next up a sports exhaust system custom made by pipeCraft in Basildon
3.5" outward rolled tip.
Next job is a 35-40m drop.
Managed to find a good pair of 90 spec Recaro's & also fitted matching rear seat-just got to source a set of door cards in grey.
Finally got round to fitting the 15" Mondeo 'spare' steels painted in Ford Strato silver
Next up a sports exhaust system custom made by pipeCraft in Basildon
3.5" outward rolled tip.

the bonus meet sounds like a good idea. either multiple meets in different locations on seperate dates or one big meet somewhere in the middle. im in north lincs. as far as i know im the only one in my area with a turbo'd bonus. would be nice to see other modded base model cars heres mine, wet weather
