A few of my mates have had Ripspeed dvd players and they have been decent enough but I would say your better off looking for a secondhand pioneer one or similar.

budget is not alot really

probably 500 all in

not fussed on what speakers they are as long as they sound good and can handle a eeasonable amount of bass before farting

its for ford ranger, looks like i can get 5 1/4's in front and 4's in the rear

im gonna try and strip the doors at weekend to see how much room i have, above sizes are standard speakers

gus, You can get plenty with that budget...

I would look into CDT components for the front in 5 1/4, and a pair of co-axials in the back...the fronts you can run off an amp if budget allows, but depending on model, this isnt a necessity as they are VERY efficient drivers and can be run off the headunit...best sound will be to amp the fronts and run the rears off the headunit

also worth invest in is a bit of sound deadening, you dont have to go mad, but a deadening the outer layer and sealing up as many holes in the door as possible will even make a poor set of speakers sound good!...within reason lol

Forget the screen and put in a good quality headunit and you will have a lovely sounding motor for whats in there!
