no shit!

mind you marco malandi said to me the other day that its just the camera angles speeded up,that makes them gp bikes look fast,i said ,shut up and pass the sauce as we ate fish'n'chips .

he also pointed out that its not a wheelie as such, its the ground pulling away from the front tyre!

that 156mph record is for the fastest recorded speed over a 1km distance if you had more distance you could go faster.even my nan could wheelie a big 1000 but its the distance and control that counts like a 5th gear constant 70mph stand up wheelie over a few miles

I don't know if you've all seen the Ghostrider movies....

In one of them they are riding on a freeway in Sweden, filming with a onboard cam on a GSX-R1000 doing 280-290 km/h (~175mph+).... and Ghostrider comes flying by on one wheel with a turbocharged Busa (499bhp). Must have had well over 300 km/h (~190mph)

Not official record, but still...

yeah its a 600 SRAD

to be honest the pics look better than i am as theyre only first gear power wheelies, but you gotta start somewhere i suppose rolling along in first gear then back off the throttle, the front end dives a bit then whack it open, or just open the throttle wide and give the bars a gentle tug and the front end lifts nicely

The bottom pic looks good

Hows the gearing on your bike for 2nd Gear wheelies? Have you given it a go?

Its been a while since I've riden a bike the way it should be riden.

The feeling of anticipation as you grab a wristfull of throttle dip the clutch and think to yourself...How far up is it coming???...Is this enough throttle???......hope it aint to much!!!!..... Great fun you cannie beat it

B8 the gearing isnt short enough for 2nd gear power wheelies -1 front +2 or +4 rear (i forget exactly). it will lift in 2nd with a bit of clutch but ive not had it very far off the ground at all (12" tops), not too confident this way, would love to get good at it tho, nowt better than seeing a good minger in public

Last year the worlds fastest kilometer wheelie record was shattered at elvington runway and taken up from 138mph to 156.5mph but word on the street is the guy that broke it didnt register his record at guinness within 3 months of the event and therefor is void reducing it to 148mph... On the offical GuinnessWR site for some reason there is no record of the event (even though 2WW was there) and it stands at 140mph by an austrailian...
Does anyone know the FACTS? If so please leave a message in forum/rumour control.

Some sensible stuff here, n some crap, as a wheelie merchant who owns an R1, some R1 riders here talk crap, some quoting the wheelie record talk crap, and some i bet still own a bmx n think they r street hawk..... N e way, there hard to do if ya a novice, n piss easy if ya a GOOD rider. No matter what though, i bet if kevin n perry drove past in a cossie with paint pot pipe, and then mr biker goes past on one wheel, i no who lookin better than the other..... Any one wonna urban wheelie competition.....? Oh, and b4 any one says i duno what i talking about, check out some pics taken of myself, gary rothwell and a few others doing what we do best http://www.2wheelwonderland.com/2whe...Elvi/index.htm
