Default getting your knee down....

I'm getting more confident leaning the bike over and I can see me wanting to scrub my knee sliders in soon

anyone got any dos and don'ts for this?

I don't want to lean it too far and drop it lol

It's all about body position and confidence IMO. The biggest thing I had to get over was the speed you need to carry through a corner to allow the hanging off bit whilst keeping to a line. Too slow and you just turn in too much or can't physically lean over far enough.

The best advice I can give is to find a large roundabout with a constant radius curve and take someone along, who can already get their knee down, for tips and advice on body position and speed. Then it's just practice, practice , pratice.

Good luck

Martyn

Nice one bud

I know a bloke who is pretty good at it, just last time we went out he hit a stone when he was right over and had to pick it up very quickly, it scared the shit out of me being behind him!

definaty learn on a quiet roundabout.
then getting your left knee down will be hard.
a better option is a trackday.my mate never got his knee down on the road but we did a trackday at croft and he wore a set of sliders out in a day!!!

I,m the other way round
Can,t get my right knee down for toffee
But the left is no probs
For me it,s easier doing it faster than slower
Just be carefull of the front washing out
Nice and steady rather than belting up to the corner and chucking it straight down on it,s side thats when it,ll end in tears
Thats how i was told anyway a few year ago by Mr Reynolds

i've found that getting my left knee down is easier than getting the right down as well. when you do it once though there will be no stopping ya

I Found the left knee easier to start with too - if there is one tip i can give its to hang off the seat to which ever way you want to lean, using your other knee against the tank to hold your other side firmly in place - dont hang off too much though or you will find that the bike is near as damm it upright and your nearly lying down - dont shift your weight over the seat too quick at slower speeds either as you can end up over compensating.

You may also find that turning your foot in so that the sole of your boot is facing the side of the bike will help too as turning the foot in draws your knee closer to the floor.

As you get more and more confident you will use a little less hang off the seat - you will also find with practice that you will be able to get your knee down at slower speeds too.

Try using a larger round about as you can go round it gradually increasing speed and gradually getting your knee closer to the floor.

The first time its down your gonna feel a little uncomfortable as the feeling of your knee grinding on the floor is a little weird to start.

Looking at when you posted this add you may already be a pro at it, if not hope this helps

strange wear pattern.
looks like your leg is stuck out to much and not enough lean angle, they should wear flat and even.
