Don't waste time with a 250 unless you want something just to use on sunny sundays (Aprillia RS250).

At the very least go for a 400 sports bike like a Honda CBR400 or VFR400NC30

Personally, my opinion is don't waste time with 250/400 just go get a 600

Yamaha TZR's are a pieces of shit

Suzuki killed the RGV250 by only offering it with a 45PS engine after '94 but still selling full power 59PS engines to Aprillia for the RS250

The only answer is the RS250 or a Honda NSR250SP (MC28) for extra (Still only 45PS and 2k+ to deristrict with new loom etc)

4 stoke is the way ahead until Bimota get the 500cc V-Due to work (when hell freezes over) *edited to add, forgot they went bust*

sorry mr mcn, they were only suggestions, and if he aint ridden for ages it's not a expensive bike to chuck down the road.

But the build quality is feckin' awful, bits go bang, fall off, go rusty with frightning regularity!!

The engine will need pistons/replate every 2 years

The bike is a pain in the ass to own........BUT you get the closest thing to a GP500 race bike for the road.

Great if you only want to use it @ the weekend.

In fact the first time i rode one I had a fireblade at the time.
I walked back into work, threw the keys at my manager and said "If I owned one of those i'd be dead in 2 weeks"........lol

He he...best fun I had was off roading on a Husqvarna 400...damn I could only touch the floor with tip toes!!! Was great fun though!!

When I was with the stunt show, we had a stand up north somewhere and was pratting round on the bikes before the show (as u do ) Then got sprung by the boss who went ballistic....seems it was a cricket pitch we'd just ripped to pieces!!!! He lost his 2k deposit!!! oops!!!

Lee,

Given your virtically challenged stature & your lack of experience with high power vehicles I would suggest this........

I had a GSXR750 & then a race-tuned YZF750 mate

Personally I wouldn't arse about with these 2-stroke 250GP replica's if I was you. I'd go for a 400cc 4-stroke like the CBR/ZXR or FZR. Just as quick as the 250cc ones if not slightly quicker (although they may not feel it due to the viscous powerband on the 250's), much more tractable, reliable (cost peanuts to run compared to the 250's), more comfortable & make a better noise IMO.

Cheers,
Ian

That was factored in as part of my "running costs" bit Maria, I just never said it. BTW, you don't have to mix it as such on the roadbikes, they have a little chamber that you have to keep filled up & it adds it in the right proportion to the fuel itself. However, yes it is a pain in the arse in comparison & you end up stinking of two-stroke oil.........oh & god forbid should you forget to top it up!!!
