Default FINISHED - Mk3 Escort Pickup

Havent done a massive amount to it, but here we go.

After making this

I was left with

What to do, re-spray, practice shell or pickup.

Pickup won, so the back was cut off. Dad did it actually as he has the skill and a steady hand. (I live at home so nice and easy).

Havent done any more pics yet, but it is now striped back to bare metal & has a bed in waiting for milliput.

The front end will look like this hopefuly

Cant decided on a colour (Mattise Blue, purple), seats (escos, wrc buckets) or wheels (5 spoke chromes, standard chrome GL's, comps or escos)

Andy

Done the arches for the flat bed but their too big, need to re-do them.

Matisse Blue was the favourite. Going with black bumpers rather than the standard matt black & a black flat bed.

All the black is plasticard with some thin wood for support. Stuck some coctail sticks on the bed, as i wanted it to be as real as possible and thats all i could think off. Still need to be milliput'd then will be all black.

Sort of like this

Looks good.

Could you not heat the plasti-card over the top of the cocktail sticks, that way its a solid piece?

the longer i look at this the more i think the blue is the ideal colour but i reckon you should fit escort cosworth wheels and a rs turbo body kit

Its going to me Matisse Blue, black flat bed, black standard bumpers & rs1600i splitter & black or grey EsCos wheels. Maybe clear front indicators aswell. Bucket seats inside and standard engine or xr3 / EsCos.

After this is done, im gonna do a S1 RS Turbo.

Painted the EsCos wheels Ford Panther Black pearlesent yesterday, just need to be laquered now.

Also finished the putty round the back window. Just needs to be filed off now.

Reinforced the inside too so its all nice and strong.

Here's where I am currently with the pickup. Its almost smooth, just one or two spots need a little more fileing.

Paint is all done, just another layer or 2 of laquer then its done and ready to be put back together.
As its an RS1600i shell, it has the towing eye painted blue aswell.

I like the detail of the standard engine so lift it alone.
