so how long do u think it will be b4 u get the filler on it agen?
i kno its ur first project but wot do u think wen you look at it?
i did these yesterday night i forgot! i did the decals for these wheels in photoshop just to finish them off and Dave printed them off for me, make a huge difference imo.

The wheels are OZ Futuras, so i made the centercap as close as i can
( pic ; http://www.clublexus.com/gallery/data/500/100_0279.JPG )
probably keep them for another lexus project im waiting to start
also, painted up and put the BBS centercap decals on my LMS then fitted them to my R33..

R33's are my favorite car, so doing this one how id have mine in 1/1 - subtle, just want an exhaust and some subtle carbon parts on it. maybe work out how to lower the front end a tiny bit, but its fine for now, took me ages to work out how to leave the wheels rolling & steering!

this is spot on pete, wheels make it so much better,i would like 1 of these 1 day, looks a nice model
what the other wheels for then?
im not even going to put any more filler on it because it's only my first attempt and a trial run at modding a 1/18 model so it's not meant to be perfect first time round is it??
at the end of the day im pleased with it and don't realy care what you have to say about it as i am not rubbing it down through 4 layers of lacquer and 5 layers of paint just to add more filler to it, but i can assure you that my next attempt will be 100% better than this one, so im happy with it.

here is my first ever attempt at making a wide bodykit with filler, no where near done though
as you can see, just applied the next layer of filler, will be taken back to perfectly smooth,
have progressed since but have no pics,

when its done should be nice will get pics up
anyway, keep going with the model it will be nice when you finish it to your best standard
i am not at all happy with what some people have said about my first attempt at modding a 1/18 model, it is a first attempt and not meant to look 100% perfect first time round but i will get better as i do more and more models
yes mate you will do, like i say thats my first attempt too, and its going well, just be patient, i really want to do it and it be done NOW but theres no point in rushing it
if i were you, i would keep practising with this model till you feel your 100% capable of doing your next one so your happy with it

dont take things personal buddy, in my honest opinion, i would smooth it all, the body kit is ok, just spend more time with the finish i know its your first attempt but you still want it 100% right dont you !

i know im capable of doing better as i've done 1/24 models in the past and they've come out realy good and i've just finished my 1/24 dodge challenger aswell but that one was simple as i just changed the exhaust wheels added speakers to the doors nos bottles to the back seat and a rollcage.
im not takin it personally but if people want to critisize so much then im just goin to let them 'coz at the end of the day im pleased with it for my first attempt but i've got more models on the way which im goin to be workin on more so they will look much better and i might be re-doing the bm in the future but im not entirely sure yet though.
thats looking good fella
thats looking good fella

will do no worries there lol
yeah i know that but it realy takes the piss when they say it after i've painted and reassembled it and that
i can understand your frustration at some of the malicious comments you have had from a certain member on here mate but rest assured rapid3dr is one of the best about at modding models and is only offering an opinion and in no way is looking down upon you in anyway!
most of us on here call him hawkeyes as he has a very unique eye for detail and is his own worst critic.
if he points out something that is not right on one of my projects i look at it as a positive and do my best to put it right.
as a first attempt with building a body kit and respraying a model it is far better than my first attempt thats for sure

you will only improve on what you have already done whether it be to this model or the next one you do , it is important to take all coments in the context they are made which is an individuals opinion nothing more.
again keep at it mate we were all beginers at some point and have all developed at different paces with what we do .

Don't take it to heart,we are all a good bunch of lads here (except one or two who are not regular posters) and anything said is meant in a polite way,as been said we all have to start somewhere & we all improve in time so keep at it.
Anyway i know these pics are prob in the wrong section but thought more of you will see them,my first diorama,a snap-on garage (big thanks to Escortnutter for spoting it
