Made this one myself in 1/18 as you can only get orange. Will be given a respray soon as its not perfect. Also have a 1/32 version.

 

I fancy some on my 206wrc project but not sure on a size or design yet.

Just booked tickets for me and my brother for the the 2nd round of the British Touring Car Championship at Rockingham raceway in Corby on the 25th April ,hopefully they should have a few trade stalls selling 1/18th goodies

 

An update on the Merc DTM ..what a pain ! it seems i have spent 1-2 hours every day finding fault with the paint and re-touching it ....
But it has got to a stage where i am quite happy with it ...!




The lower grill mesh turned out really well ...
behind the grill shot ! held in place by JB cold weld..A quid from the pound shop...!


exhausts need a bit of work.. more matt black paint..but the wheels and tyres look OK


Looks mean and sleek , got to put the lenses in the mirrors..

 

sounds great btcc not what it used to be big old volvo estates rs500 sierra bmw honda you name it it was the best place to show case new cars vauxhall cavaliers remember how good that was have look on youtube.

i am back i have been so busy with comision work this last week i seem to be posting to every corner of the globe even posted to israli other day a diorama. I cant belive some stuff arrives when you see the adress i have been posting germany loads of tuning stuff they love modified models there. no e bay fees thats the bonus.

what do you think about the rear valance..it should have these big vents/holes ! do you think fine mesh wire adds a bit of detail ..or should I leave it as per the real car ..

i would go with the mesh wire in matt black mate , think that would finish it off

 

put some mesh in, or at least some oil coolers or something to fill the gaps colour is nice, ive got a clk Gtr that could do with a spruce up..seeing this is giving me ideas

 

Hopefully i can pick up a MK1 avo or an Allan Mann MK1 at a bargain price while I'm there

escortoldskool, you seem to have a good eye for detail, how about painting the tow hook a different colour, and putting some carbon decal on the diffuser, splitter & spoiler
also where do you get the mesh from? in the past ive taken it from 1.24 kits but running out now

Its hard to tell from the pics but the spoilers and splitters have textured surface a bit like kevlar , the mesh was from a food blender attatchment !
but these kitchen splatter guards have very fine mesh I have used them before on 1/35th scale models

 

yeah they are the red is as rare as rocking horse pooh

i am in total awe of your collection mate , i could sit here all day looking at the pics you put up.....lol
you say anything you want to see close up just ask but there is just so much to choose from.
think you should keep doing it as you are as it gives us something to look forward to every time we log on.
