Hi,

I'm in the process of compiling a library of Ford Sales Brochures going back for the past 20 to 30 years. I've made a start, and have about 30 brochures uploaded, with another 30 currently being scanned in.
If you've got a brochure scanned in which isn't in our library, I'd be grateful for a copy. The aim is to have a comprehensive library, to preserve them for the future, and also to allow everyone access to them, instead of being in the hands of collectors so no-one ever gets to see them!

Nice one bud. Ive got a few rs ones that ive collected. They are starting to go for silly money on the bay.

 

Thats a great idea. Il try and get the ones that are at my parents scanned in at some page, prop wont be visiting them till xmas tho.

 

wont ford be a bit touchy over this? they seem to hate anyone hosting anything of 'theirs'

 

Glenny Boy - that's what I've noticed as well, I'm hoping people will scan their copies in for me when I get to the last ones. I've bought loads of cheap brochures from Ebay which I'm currently scanning in, it's quite a laborious project.

StephenC - I believe we're quite entitled to make all of this information freely available, for two main reasons;

1) Ford never charged for brochures (and they will be free to download from my site)
2) Fair Use provision of the Copyright Act - allows you to redistribute for research, educational, news reporting etc.

The brochures from the 60's/70's/80's are fast disappearing

 

I totally agree with what your saying, they just seem like complete arseholes when it comes to their material. Look forward to seeing it

 

I've probably got 70% of their brochures from mid 70's to around 1990, I will have to dig them out.

 

That'd be great. I can arrange to get them scanned in as well if that helps.

Sounds like a good idea mate, the only one I have is the same as Matt Baxters Cosworth one.

I did have about 20 Sierra , Escort and Granada ones but they were in my boot when my car got nicked and I never got the car back

Yeah, that's what I've noticed as well. I'm hoping to get scans of the more expensive ones, I don't particularly want to pay Ł15+ for a brochure.

Alrite fella. I've got a Escort RS Cosworth brochure from July 1992 if thats any help?

 

Ive been getting a few RS brochures and i have noticed these go for silly money.There has been a few RS500 sierra brochures which have been going for over 40 quid.

There was even a RS200 brochure which was for sale on the bay for 100 quid.

 

Them brochures are mint Martin.

rstubby: You need to left click the link under the photo that starts [img] (which will automatically copy it - it should highlight and then say 'copied') then paste it into a reply. Click the reply box then right-click and select 'paste'.

Yeah, there is a limitation system in place to stop everything being downloaded by harvest programs and the like. They could soon kill my server if left unchecked!

I'll check the settings tomorrow though to make sure they are "user-friendly".
