Default Young driver insurance...

My 17yr old bro has just passed his test and is trying to get insured on his 1.1 MK1 Fiesta... Cheapest quote so far is circa £4,000.

Any1 know of any cheap young driver companies?

Ive tried all the usual go compare etc etc and afew young driver specialists off google. But nothing remotely reasonable!

Its unreal, actually unbelievable...
There is no other reason for it, than they are greedy fuckers who want to take advantage of innocent road users.

If I remeber correctly, I got a quote off collingwood for my mk3 escort 1600 with a few 'mods' ( brakes, suspension & exhaust) declared.
Before i added the mods it was £1600 which i was happy with, after I declared the mods it dropped to £1400 fully comp

Yep same boat to, except im 15k for a KA.

I found this site

http://www.youngmarmalade.co.uk/?gcl...FQHcfAod9R45HA

They specialize in young drivers. You get a brand new car WITH cashback. The cashback is to go towards your premium. I got a quote the other week and my cashback was actually more than the premium so my insurance could have been paid outright, then i had to pay something like 280 a month for the car.

Its certainly not the ideal route to go down unless he has a steady stable job that he can rely on, but it is an option nonetheless. Newer cars are cheaper to insure for obvious reasons, so he may be best going down this route and getting a few no claims behind him.

Another option is Paul @ Need2Insure. Hes suggested quite a lot on here and insures the majority of the cars i think. I don't have a number but i'm sure somebody will be happy enough to post it. Just mention passionford sent you!

No, young people are a high risk group.

sure the majority of young people dont cause major accidents, however as a result of mongs causing millions and millions of pounds worth of damage in claims, ALL young people end up paying the bill.

Its the way insurance has always worked.

In the past there wasnt the compo culture either.

Remember the insurance companies arent making so much money on their investments either so they up premiums as well to offset losses in profit.

No males are high risk!!! Women will get a quote around 1/4 of what one of you will. My advise?

Go down the town hall and change your sex to female lol
