Unhappy Probably sick of hearing from guys like me

Hello everyone,

Got a question for you all and I thank you all for your responses before there are any.

I have a 1989 (F) escort xr3i cabriolet and im having problems getting it insured. It's a second car, my primary is a 1.7 cdti 59 plate astra and im paying 1200 a year to insure it.

Im 19 and the cheapest quote ive had for my escort is 3500+ is there anyway i can get like 6month insurance or classic insurance so i can drive it or do i have to wait til i'm 25?

Thanks again for the responses

Search fairer insurance. There are a few that will for gps and charge by driving style and mileage, worth a try.

all prices im getting are still extortionate... I suppose my only option is wait til im 25 and get classic insurance on it? Unless someone else can point me in a better direction?

Most companies are 25+ but there are some at 21+.

Which still doesn't help you

I've just renewed my mk4 Popular for £807 with Tesco, I'm 20...

Just the one, and it's a standard 1.3 bud.

Have you tried any classic insurance places? Might find one or two that are 19+.

It's daft really, I can get insured on a R5GTT for less than the Escort

Just a thought, if you don't have it down as commuting, it'll plummit, my mate insured a 2.0 240 Volvo at 19 for £60 a month!

i've tried a couple based on what a few people have suggested but the quotes are extortionate. Especially as my escort will be an infrequently used car. :/ Majority of the year it will be locked in the garage.
