Just a quickie while i am sitting here pondering.
Next year i am going to be 20 with 2 years NCB on my insurance and i am feeling the urge for a Cossie to use as a toy after being in Divas this week, i forgot how much fun they are.
But, what would the insurance be like on one? Affordable? I will be 20 with 2 years NCB living in a L post code area (Liverpool).
If it will be silly money then i will scrap the idea until i am older and just get something else, probably another German car, a boring Audi.

Sadly though, i live in a Liverpool (L) post code, so insurance is higher for us Scousers!
Will have to look into it the end of the year.

Whos that with mate? Sounds bloody resonable! Mines up for renewal next month so will give them a try...
Right here's an idea for all. I am insured on a multi car policy with Footman James.
The deal is I have to have a minimum of 3 cars of which the majority must be classics. So my garage consists of a y reg 998cc Nissan Micra. A standard 2wd Saph Cossie and a heavily modified rally spec 86 Mini (proper one not BMW).
I am 37 and pay £428 fully comp for all 3 cars for my wife and me to drive unlimited mileage. The beauty of this is as its classed as classic insurance no NCD is required.
The policy is based on the Micra and the fact that a group 20 car is on the policy does not come in to it. I was that shocked with the price quoted I asked for confirmation in writing at the time.
Might be something you youngsters could look at. You could acquire 2 rubbish cars put them on sorn and declare them off the road for renovation.
This may help some of you older guys as well. I reduced my yearly insurance from over £1400 saving nearly a grand a year.

Just recived a quote off greenlight, and I must say I doubt it will be beaten. Going to have a ring round the other insurance companies on here and see what they say this afternoon.
i know its not quite the same but when i was 18 i was payin £1300 on and astra GSi, was only group 15(i think) but i did have quotes of up to £4000, worth shopping around you might get a mega deal, but as everyone else has said, i doubt it lol
people in the uk are so lucky, forget about a cossie till you're 25 in the republic of ireland i'm afraid!!! the funny thing is the insurance is reasonable then (1100 euro or so), go figure...
try and get under classic insurance if you can?i think it will be a high though i was 20 when i had my sccoobie i was 2300 quid 3 party
i still paid it
i wanted to get a cossie but no insurance company would take me on till i was at least 21 and as soon as i hit 21 i had my(sold now) sapphire cosworth outside
i was out all night and day rubbering work so i could go sideways

I have thought about classic insurance. Under a classic policy can you use the car everyday as a commuting car? or is it quite limited to the amount of usage etc?
4x4 saph, garaged, cat 1 alarm, tracker, very limited mileage, SD&P Fire and Theft only with no mods was £1550 with swinton when I was 20 (clean licence). Makes a slight difference if you have owed the car for a few years and your mother is a named driver... just an idea
