Thanks Greenlight!!
Renewal due on 22nd and got my renewal docs through from them last week, quoting £597, down by £295 from last year!!
Did the usual phone round yesterday morning just to see if it could be beaten.
Adrian Flux
Spoke to some fuckwit who didn't have a clue about even fairly simple engine mods, finally quoted me £925, nearly double greenlight.
Performance Direct
Refused to quote. Really pissed me off, as in their ad (in fast ford, where readers are somewhat likely to want to insure, errr, fast fords?!) they list modified and performance as being specialities.
Brentacre
Really sound guy on the phone. Asked few questions and was totally straight with me when I told him renewal quote that he wouldn't even be able to get close to it, and advised to def take that quote. Can't fault that honesty.
Hagerty
Refused to quote due to % power increase.
Footman James
Again, refused to quote.
Chris Knott
Took 3 attempts of over 20 rins to get through, and when I did no quote as they would do it through Highway, same as Greenlight.
Sky
Guy called "Danny" answered and hung up on me twice. If they're like that when you're trying to spend money, what happens if you need to claim?

A Plan
Called my local branch and went through full details. Was promised a call back "within an hour". Heard nothing.
The car is only a good stage 3 spec, but has the brakes and handling mods to cope, its not a fire spitting 600 bhp monster!
I'm 25, its garaged, less than 3k miles and I have 2 years NCB to put on it as a second car, so its not like the biggest risk they're likely to take on.
Greenlight
Were excellent.
Lines were busy so my number was taken and I was promised a call back. It had been a little while so I tried again but they were closed. I feared the worst, but then half an hour after closing time, Tony called and ran through everything. Updated all the details on the mods, all the policy details including agreed value etc and got it all sorted.
Nice guy to speak to, knowledgeable about the mods and obviously willing to go the extra mile for the customer staying late on a saturday where I'm sure there are other things he'd rather be doing.
Not to mention the best price by far.
So save your time (and blood pressure
) and go straight to the best is my advice.

Thanks Guys,
I've been upon Passion Ford for some 6-7 years now and it's been a bit of a mixed bag on here for us recently, thus your comments are appreciated.
We have always tried to do the best we could over the years and i'm here to help when things don't go as planned or meet people's expectations. But with the nature of the recent posts this is feeling like a thankless job and we are considering our involvement with Passion Ford, which we will discuss shortly with the powers that be.
On a positive note, with the newcomers to the forum hopefully you will have greater coverage of the risks that the forum Insurance providers can cater for. Which is a good thing for all.
You'll find that between the three providers you should be able to find a home for your Insurance requirement.
But to reiterate, our headline specializations are as follows:
1) Performance cars
2) Modified Performance cars - we can cover pretty much any modification (inc roll cages/nitrous)
3) Like for like replacement of modified parts if stolen/damaged
4) Track cover option
Having considered the wellbeing of the forum, we offered a tiered concession to reflect the support Gold members gave to the forum and allow a flat discount to gold members that is 5% more than standard membership.
Our concession is based upon the collective performance of members from a claims perspective and the current level is 7.5% for standard members and 12.5% for Gold members.
This is an actual concession, not an estimated average saving across the year.
In light of the new Insurers boosting the Passion Ford Insurance section not favouring Gold membership, we are currently considering as to whether to do the same but are mindful that this will be a disincentive to people holding Gold membership and would be potentially damaging to the forum.
Kind regards
Tony

Hi Marco, Paul, Wong RS,
Many thanks for the kind feedback, it's very much appreciated.
On a serious note, after the successful switch to our new operating system last July we've began the expansion of our product range by adding to the Insurers that we have trading agreements with.
I can confirm that we will have successfully added three additional Underwriters within the next quarter, which will enable us to expand what we are currently able to cater for.
I'll post again to explain the additional areas we can cater for once these go live, but in the meantime thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards

Over the years of our maintaining a presence and providing technical advice in relation to Insurance questions, queries or issues upon Passion Ford I have come to know quite a few of you fairly well.
More recently, whilst we still maintain a vigil and respond to our PM's we have refrained from 'spamming' the Insurance or general chat sections by flooding them with our name/logo or reminders of what we do. We have purely commented to assist individuals within threads or by PM.
This post is a reminder that we are still here, doing what we have always done as a specialist vehicle Insurance provider.
If you're looking for cover visit www.greenlightinsurance.co.uk we'd be happy to help.
Kind regards
