not always. theres a few sticklers for the rules and laws of the land who undoubtably never break the law and theres a few that will give abuse unless youve been caught breaking the law and your in the 'in ' crowd , then itll all be " thats bad luck, hope you get off lightly" most i think are average joes who bend rules occasionally and wont judge you but offer advice to questions asked.im one of the latter when i can help..

im not sure that saying your probably breaking the law is abuse.....im quite sure technically your uninsured if proven to be the main driver.......my advise would be to insure the fastest car you can afford to insure yourself, build up no claims and look forward to the time you can insure a cossie at decent money

how could it realistically be proved though? like he says the insurance for his dad on his own was £700 but shot up to several thousand with him added so the insurance companies arent fooled by that scam.

i have heard of insurance companies building up a case against you by asking neighbours who drives the car......cant say if this is true, but is it really worth the risk

this whole fronting thing is so old its grown a beard....

the guys not fussed about fronting though as he's clearly been doing it all along?

I'm 22 now and have full no claims on my daily driver - a fiesta si which costs me £330 tpft and my escort which has mods list as long as your arm inlcuding 14 point cage, rs engine... etc etc with a 4k agreed value and a limited milage costs me £525 fully comp

build up your no claims, why pay the value of the car out every year... its madness, should be telling you you can't insure it!

Well i'm 20 with 3 years ncd and 6 points (from 3 years ago).
I pay 1550 quid to insure my, almost standard 4x4 sapphire.
Now thats a limited milage policy, garaged with decent tracker and alarm.
TPFT tho.. And thats through swinton.
Hope thats of help??

So whats all you views on not disclosing "all" your mods to your insurance then?

Where do you draw the line though???
I've got a debadged grill on my saph, that counts as a bodywork mod therefore bumping up the premium..
Also polly bushes, front splitter, sound system and daft things like that.

I mean what next, magic tree?

not all undeclared mods will invalidate your insurance . my mate got cought with undeclared alloys and an cone air filter and they still paid out. another mate had forgotten to get his first due mot on an evo8 and was 3 months driving with no mot...still paid out full market value minus £50 for the cost of the mot he should have had.

thats true, if in any doubt though you should tell your insurance! alot of non specialist insurers just ask if anything has been done to increase top speed or performance - which is the main concern, some insurers don't care about wheels and such but you should always declare everything

So out of interest, why have you been under your dads name for 3 years?
had you bought a small shitter and insured it under your own name when you were 18-19 then you could have been sitting with a ncb under your belt and getting another.
thats what im doing, im only 20 but ill be 21 by my 2nd ncb comes so insurance will be cheaper

well when i was 18 i i was getting quotes at like 2500 on a shitty 1.1 so my dad said put you under my name it will be cheaper so ive never herd of this fronting untill this day cos tbh what a load of crap just cos your the named driver doesn't mean you can drive the car everyday,

so that means the delivery lorry's and things like that are doing this all the time because the same person drives the van everyday under the company's police?
