Default HOW UK CAR SPARE BUISNESSES ARE VIEWED FROM ABROAD

As a ex-pat it is quite embarasing learning just how badly UK companies are viewed by people abroad.

There is a large number of european ford fans here in Australia but due to the distances involved we don't get together very often but stay in contact and chat on the internet by e-mail or car forums like this one.

The horror stories that are talked about by car owners who chose to own european fords from MK1 cortinas to escort cosworths extend to rude telephone conversations, unaswered e-mails to large faulty goods being recieved. (doesn't matter as its going to the otherside of the world attitude)

Please if it is to much effort to get a delivery price then just say you don't export, I know it can waist alot of time as I use to ship some parts abroad myself when I was in the UK. But if you don't want to do it just tell us.

The good companies are first class and you know who you are

But the bad or just lazy pretend buisneses, don't p**s people about just tell us you don't export as you are damageing the UK reputation and putting people off owneing some great cars.

This is meant to be constructive criticism hence no names are given and improve the UKs image at least with car owners.

I have found buying from the USA is a damn site quicker than a lot of companies in the UK.

Ive found buying car stuff from USA, Japan, New Zealand, etc etc soo much better/easier than it is over here in general.

The car business in the UK in general has a horrendous rep.

Some fantastic people and a massive majority of dodgy ones.

Lucky there places ike this to share opinions and experiences.

Agree with you ozcos. There are many excellent people on here who treat you like a mate they have known for years in person when supplying bits. trust worthy with cash, deliveries etc.

Others well, less said the better. I have had email contact with people in the UK when living there that I dont get replies to now and it isnt easy to call especially if only a mobile number is available. I have had to resort to asking family and friends to recieve stuff and send it on.

Those who have sent me stuff, you know who you are and you are the guys that are worth your weight in gold to ford fans like me, out here.

Only reason I have not launched into slandering posts about these people is firstly they have not taken money, just pissed me about and secondly there is enough anger on here without creating any more.

Not meant as a nasty post but is something that most people dont see if not mentioned.
