Default Heart Attack & car insurance - help

Yep, I had one on the 4th July.

I'm now out of hospital and feeling fine.

But..... I want to get back in my car, and i've been told not to drive for a month.
I'm really reluctant to speak to my insurers, as i'm sure I have to declare the fact that i've had one, and fearing a massive increase, I may have to sell the car.

Has anyone any advice or experience of this?

thanks
Tim

I would inform the DVLA Tim. I would also inform your insurance company.

I have hypertension (high blood pressure, at 23 ) and my insurance hasnt been affected.

Sorry to hear about your attack.. just makes me realise how much dont think it could happen to you, no matter how fit and healthy you are!

Sorry to hear that Tim. My mate was very close last month.....Doctors were very suprised he didnt have a Heart attack or a stroke as his BP was so high and Colesterol high too. He was rushed in and was lucky. Made him change his lifestyle etc. Currys, beer, currys, beer etc...no more.

Hopefully all works out ok for you mate. I think you must declare your problem to insurance!

Glad your ok Tim... thought you'd been a bit quite recently!!

Have a word and see what they say, if you do have to sell it shouldn't be a problem your car is a nice one

i think either way mate you will have to tell dvla/insurance because if you dont and you have an accident your ins would be void, unfortunately this will apply for any car as im sure you are well aware
