is there likely to be another cosworth qualifying day atall?

would like to come along to that, i know id never be anywhere near a top speed run or that close to the top guys for the 1/4mile,
but maybe take a chance on the handling circuit and im certain id be under the 12.5 criteria.

or shall i just keep my daft thoughts to myself?

Mike, im awaiting some sarcasm

12.5 is fast on a T34 in a full weight car with normal transmission mate

12.5 might be the qualifying criteria, but its also not even a quick enough time for the FWD finals let alone anything other than finishing pretty much last in rwd or 4wd.

Hence why I wouldn't even enter my own car in the qualifying - it just ain't quick enough.

Im running a vauxhall team this year, and one of the lad running for me in FWD has done 12.3 in his nova, and thats an off gas figure, he will be on gas for the event hopefully.

Yet entry time for the fwd stuff is 13.8!

Shame that doug, I personally think it would be good to see you car there for the simple reason that is totally and utterly absolutely 101% a road car in the truest possible sense of the term and that is what the event is supposed to be about!

Lee, id agree with you, but its not a full weight car, and achieved a 12.9 3 times in concession on a damp qtr mile track (proven) and now have new ratio'd box and diffs etc in.

not saying id be a strong contender in anyway atall, but nice to be able to maybe try and see what ive got to move forward to try and go with

Thats all we have im afraid, remember this is a three discipline event.

Think thats a bit harsh on my old shed to be honest... in ill health and with someone who had hardly driven the car it came fourth at GTbattle.... beating alot of VERY fast cars.

With some launching practice, the intercooling and boost sorted and maybe a sniff of NOS I think it will be a very competitve all round car.

I'm not talking about winning of course but I don't think it would look silly with a 10 something sec 1/4, 190 top end and a GOOD finish on the handling....

kelcos i did 3 runs last year at the pod in mine, with is a fully loaded car, with my engine, uprated box and diffs i did 12.5, 12.6 12.5 not to bad as it could of been launched harder and i think a time off low 12`s or may be very high 11`s is all that could be hoped for if i stripped it out and launched harder, i also have a T34 / 63 running 33psi max

Dunccoss, nice times... very impressive

im after something similar, would like to be achieving low 12's and im heading back to the pod next sunday.

and as mentioned above... to some who havent got a 600bhp plus figure winning wont be everything, but being able to take part in a big event will also be as good for some

our entry level is sub 13s for rwd and sub 12.5s for 4wd, but good allround cars that will run in all3 events are encouraged. team entries are down to Mike R, and he may go for some drag cars, some handling set up etc. be good to see a strong entry team this time.
i've asked if Martin H and Steve Scott are entering this yr, those 2 should have a fair chance of all round trophies i reckon.

Ideally, it has to be Cosworth powered and in a Ford - however, if we fall short of contenders (which doesn't look likely if you see the quality of cars being put forward), then it we may be allowed to open it up to others, but spaces are at a premium and TOTB doesn't neeed to need to make up numbers (in fact they want to reduce them if possible, due to the amount of people wanting to attend).

Winning is the only reason for entry or it should be, you are representing the Cosworth marque not turning up for a beer & skittles day.

First ask is your car competative if it is enter, if it aint dont kid yourself, you may think its fun but you will be made to look very silly.

Mine is not a contender in its present form & turning it into a drag car aint an option & so I dont consider entry. I fully realise others do not set such exacting standards. BUT I DO !!!

Im afraid 180 dont cut it, mines past 200 in the mile.

Obviously we need cars that are quick, so you would have to meet the qualifying criteria .
