applying for a logbook

Default applying for a logbook

im thinking of having an xr3i off a mate which nneds alot of work,the only reason i want it is because its the 130bhp model!but he brought off a person who had no log book for it,but the previous owner to my mate also brought it without the log book.

so wot i want to know is how do i go about getting one for it?

go to the post office. ask for a form for a v5 certificate. fill it in. pay £19, send it to dvla. wait 2 weeks. hey presto

or go on line dvla web page and print the form of, fill in your details and send of with the £19 payment

Don't bother paying the £19 quid.

Write them a snotty letter informing them you are the new keeper of the vehicle and it is in their interest to keep tabs on your vehicle.
You don't care whether it's registered in your name so don't see why you should pay £19 for something they want you to do.
Ask them to note the change of ownership as you'd hate to miss out on any speeding fines or be unable to tax the vehicle etc etc

They'll just send you a log book

Worked for me

Pretty fooking cheeky really.

The DVLA are the ones that are supposed to be reducing the amount of cars nor registered in the current owners name, especially with all the speed cameras and ANPR bollocks about at the moment and they have the cheek to demand £19 a go to do so.
