my wifes frst has just started to keep the battery light on, normaly wud say its deff the alternater but iv been driving around for a few days and it seems just normal starts ok in the morn.. any ideas anybody..

it will prob die when you're in the middle of nowhere like mine did mate

defo alternator, sounds like its on its last legs. Get it checked somewhere like Lucas or similar but I bet they'll say its wanked

the alternater is only about 18 months old, as it went was i was in cornwall, and the AA changed it at the road side i think its got a 2 year warranty..

Mine done this just before I got rid.

Light started coming on but was staring and running normal. Was only 2 year old aswell I think.

Took it to get checked out just incase and it was buggered.

Defo alternator i'd have said.

Mine used to do that about 24 hrs before it would pack up......mine had in total 4 alternators in the end in the space of a few years !!

Get it sorted sooner rather than later ............

I think this is common with fiestas as heat from turbo wipes em out, I have had 4 or five in 3 years, but have been told to put a ford one on, as some of the recon ones are not the best, luckily for me only had to buy 2 as rest went while under warranty, mine still runs and starts great, but light comes on with lights or heater, checked with meter is charging ok when just engine running but as I turn more stuff on the battery light glows and voltage on battery reduces from 13.5 volts down to 12, so if I was you I would try to get a good recon or ford one and keep your fingers crossed.
