Those "cruisers" sound like scum particularly the ones found with nicked cars

Ive been to a few of Gareth's cruises over in the cardiff area, always just genuine enthusiasts not nicked cars etc, but i havent been for a few years now.

Sadly the cruise scene does seem to attract a lot of joyriders etc

Trouble is somtimes in the Summer it can be a large gatherin of people with modified cars just all chillin out and talking etc. And the police treat you like the criminal even though your not remotly close to the pricks who knicks cars that turn up or perform stupid actions etc. This is very sad to read as u know the police is going to treat every modifed car owner the same if theres a group of you meeting

90% of cardiff cruises i went to back in the day (3-4years ago now) had the kids turn up in stolen cars and do burnouts and handbrake turns.
Looked about 10, dirty faces n allsorts cars had smashed windows etc.

Nobody gave a fuck, they did that a safe distance away from the rest of the cruise, and that was it really.

Police helicopter used to chase em off most time, but piggys left the rest of the cruisers to it.
Apart from that time some nobber bricked a pig car window.

Cardiff cruises were the bollocks even then, but had jubby scrotes in stolen cars even then too.

Basically all the ones down Cardiff Gate they was there, and all ones where it was a retail park etc.
Never remember them down Newport Road way, but wasnt as good down there anyhow.

The best ones was from about 7-5 years ago, then they was fookin awsome!!! 1000's of peeps there and never really got that much hassel of the old bill!! I havent been to a proper cruise for ages, now they seem to be 1/4 the size with no atmosphere and generally full of fools! lol

Will prob pop to one in the summer though when the saff is out just for a look to see if they started to get better agian. But i dought it the wya the police are acting.

Can always remember about 3 maybe 4 years ago when was down Newport Rd and pikeys turned up in a Stolen car and started smashing it etc. nobody said anything until one of my mates chirp up and started shout fuck off and walking over. Then everyone chiped in and the pikeys fookin leged it

The pikeys do provide some entertainment, even better when they hurt themselves.

Cardiff gate and newport road were very good!

Went to one a few years ago near cardiff at tesco where someone bricked a cop car and they shut the exits off and had the chopper out etc.

I was sat in a suzuki cappachino watching a DVD of "pitch black" with the chopper going overhead, was most surreal

I rekon it was a bust, where did 20 cop cars and the helicopter come from within a min or 2 of it happening.

My mate i went with tried to do some donuts in his cappachino and seemed genuinely surprised that a 600cc car in the dry with no slipper couldnt do them properly

Not like it used to be Also rememb r local towns being rammed at closing time with modded cars buzzing about. Nothi g ever there now though

Weston Cruises in 1997-1999 sort of time were the BEST ive ever seen.

Mainly cause it was action action action.

Wholly irrisponsible maybe, but was fast cars racing from start to end, nice long track too, well two, the one at the front and the one closer to maccys.

And fucking awesome cars, everything from Mk2 RS2000s to mental Cossies.

And thinking back it was a bit dodgy with them forcing everyone who passed to do burnouts, but it looked cool

By 2000 you couldnt even drive into weston anymore on bank holidays.

And then the ultra-gayness that is Weston Wheels bagan

Steve, pre 97 was just as good as post 97, or is that just when you started going?

Agree on the "mandatory burnouts" on the seafront being stupid though.

I once saw some lads try and force some bloke in a full tarmac spec rally escos on road legal slicks to do one.

He was saying "i fucking cant, ive got too much grip"

they were like "we'll hold it back, if you dont try we are going to kick your panels in"

so they got round the front of the car to hold it back, he revved it up, let the clutch up quickly then back down, and they ended up splattered all over the road, they let him go after that

I help organise our local regular cruise and can honestly say we never have any bother with 3-400 cars usually in attendance, no one goes on like a tit every 1 just parks up and has laugh the police always attend but they just watch from a distance at our last 1 the council even provided rubbish bags for us so the car park wasnt a mess!, its the way it should be i enjoy cruises the atmosphere is great and its a good chance to meet people and check there cars out, its just the minority who spoil it by going on like tossers that gives cruisers a bad rep then we all get tarred with the same brush.

Anyone remember the esses at Birmingham?? used to be an awsome night on saturdays, I remember the first time I ever went was like a mad 80's rally, I came flying round the corner in my uno turbo ( ) and met a sea of people, who moved out the way like moses parting the red sea , absolutly rammed, loads of fast tidy cars, cossies, RST's, skylines, supras 5GTT's etc etc, used to be an awsome place to go But like the whole car scence really, it seemed to gt get taken over by chavs in wank 1.1 spaxo's with humongus body kits and twats in stolen cars
I remember me and a mate pointing out a stolen car to some coppers in a T5 and told them they were about to burn it, and the fookin piggys didn't do a thing

Chip- Ive seen them try and force a fucking landrover to burnout FFS

And yes, was 17 in 1997 so that was first time id ever been

Cruises are proper boring normally tho IMO, one round here is massive, but deadly boring, hundreds of cars im not interested in doing not much.

Ive been to cruises all over UK, but the old days Weston and Cardiff ones were the only ones that were "me" TBH...

Well actually, Brum eses was good, tho maybe i missed out on the best, as every time i went there was good cars, but was also proper stupidly dangerous, really dodgy driving going on.

I prefer the concept of a cruise to a show.

In a show certain cars are more important than others, designated areas etc, at a cruise everyone is equal and all just get to wander round and have a look and a chat etc.

Shame twats spoil it, but in principle its the best possible way to look round others cars etc i reckon
