Default too many cossies being broken!!!!!!!!!!

everytime i go thro the for sale sale section there seems to be another perfectly good cossie being broken coz they cant sell them.

whats going on lads...its getting harder and harder to get a decent cossie these days and ppl breaking them are making them rarer and rarer.

these cars are getting on for 20 years old now and if we keep breaking them the way we are then there will be none left in 5/10 years.

lets try and keep a true ford classic alive and STOP ripping them to bits for a few extra quid

Any seriously modded Cosworth has to be broken if the owner wants to see the most return. If someone advertises a 450hp Saff for 12k they get told they are on drugs so WTF are they supposed to do?

So that makes hard to get hold of parts available for the ones that need them

The ones that will be left will hopefully be worth something then

Quite, but for someone who can't shift a car and wants to get on the property ladder, or, buy something newer, what choice is there ? Sell a good car for pityful money and scrape by, or, make as much as possible ?
If everyone had spare cash, it wouldn't be a problem - in fact, people could afford to pay for what people ask

I can't see a major problem with it tbh, most shells end up being re-used after someone stacked theirs too, putting an otherwise dead car back on the road.

i see your point m8 totally...but you know what im getting at...ive just got back into the RS scene m8 and would hate to see old fords disappearing like they are now......dont forget that ford are never gonna make anything like the S2'S , cossies , mk1 and mk2 escorts again so i just reckon we should try our best to keep what we've got.

the answer is ....dont plough so much money into them...we all know that you dont get your money back when you sell a car with a shit load of mods on them

ummmm let me think..i asked on here...partly for entertainment what my n plate escos was worth with no engine or box and all standard stuff on here a couple of months ago, figures ranged from 5k to 7k also a few timewasters asking about buying it complete which never happened...so i broke it almost finished now and it will have returned around 11k without selling an engine or box or wheels

it was a nice car but i dont give a toss its only a car and my wallet is fatter

What would my track spec saff have sold as complete? 7k?

Double that broken in parts.

I'm not rich, I need the money, and couldn't give a rat's arse about heritage, unless I'm getting paid to care.

Hy i know what you mean mate, but as mentioned before, if its a huge spec cossie then it be eaiser to break it then to sell.

but again, im not one to say as im selling mine and if i dont get much response then i may have to break it up
