Well, thats it - game over.....
Some of you might remember I posted up as I was at a bit of a quandry over what to do about my job. The short of it is, (nearly) two weeks ago I handed my notice in where I work (I run the drum department at a new musical instrument sales company). I handed it in as I felt I wasn't being treated rightly and in many occasion felt I has being taken advantage of, and I have ended up doing a role in the company that is nothing like what I was hired to do. I was lied to quite a lot (even tho they claim they haven't lied) and I said in December that if it happened again and they took the piss I would leave.
Well they took the piss again and I had to stand fast to my word (I don't back down from things I say I will do, morals an all that) so I handed in my resignation. I gave them the opportunities over the last 2 weeks for us to come to a comprimise or agreement so that I would stay, but said if they can't then I would go as it is not in my interest to do the job they want me to for the money I am on, and for that reason not in my financial reason either (I can do a lot bette elsewhere)
But they haven't managed to take me up on that offer - tried a couple of times to ask me to stay but wouldn't offer me anything other than what I was doing at this time, which isn't good enough, and time is up now - so I leave on Thursday
So back to fiting car glass again I reckon.... Autoglass have already rung me asking me to come back (and they don't even know I am leaving yet!!!) and Autowindscreens have also been asking about me aswell (never worked for them before tho) so I shall go see both of them on Friday to see what they are offering....
Be sad to leave here tho, in some respects. I very much liked my job, I liked (most) of the people I work with and liked how close it is to home (10mins baby ) and most of all I love drums so it was perfect for me, but I don't like how the company is run (a lot of it is very shady behind the scenes and a lot of stuff is odd and they won't explain it to us And I have always been one to be true to my word and stick to my morals so I have to go
Oh well.....

Thats a bad one, but at least you told them where to stick it
good luck on sorting a new job and all that, seems you wont have much trouble earning abit of cash from glass fitting, until something else comes along!

Thanks all - Yeah, it's the first time I have ever quit a job without something concrete to go straight into, but I was fed up being taken for a ride aswell, so things had to be done. I was hoping to use it as a bargaining point, but it turns out the company is in a worse financial position than I knew, so there's a fiar possibility I was gonna be let go anyway some time in the (not too distant) future Plus, I'm not THAt gutted that I am leaving as when I handed my notice in I was already prepared to leave on Thursday.....

Youll drum another job up soon mate. LOL
I wouldnt let the two places know that youve left or going to, or they will take it that your desparate for another job and wont offer you the best package.
The best time to get the best salary in any job is at interview stage when they have offered you the job, like always mate, when your working for someone they always take the piss.
Its always the ones that cant do the jobs properly that get promoted, as they wont be missed in the job they was doing, so the hard workers get left doing the hard work.
Thats my views anyway!

Good for you mate
I spent 3 years working for a c**t of a boss who regularly used to threaten to come and punch people for not getting every little thing right...never did it to me though...just used to say I'll sack you and all that thing....was hard to leave at the time, but since then it's got loads better.....life is short mate.don't let them mess you about and being true to your principles has to be right.....

Well, popped into see my old manager at Autoglass yesterday and I start back there in 2 weeks Can't say I am excited or looking forward to it as such, but I not unhappy about it either... Half of me is like "ugh, fooking windows again" but the other half is "well, I was good at it and I did like it most of the time" lol
I did consider Autowindscreens, and they were offereing more money, but conditions wouldn't have been as good (support, tools etc) and I think even tho it's a little less cash at Auto Glass I got a fairly good deal - base fitter (work inside the unit most of the time with only a few moble jobs to do) and secured a 9-6 contract rather than the usual shift pattern where you never know if you're doing 8-5/8-6/9-5/9-6/9-7/etc.... "sundays off in 3, 1 Saturday off in 3....
Oh well, least I'll have a bit more money coming in I guess.... Might get a bit closer to my own house/flat
