Ok the fuel gauge on my escort gti seems to be playing up as of lastnight, i had about a quater tank of fuel after i drove to see the gf and after 4 hours got back in my car to go home and the fuel gauge was on empty, so im like i gotta do 20miles and ive got a fuel leak or something but its definatly not that because as i was driving home the gauge shot up to half way mark.

At the moment its just sat on the red section so its obviously not broken is it otherwise it wouldnt have moved lastnight and still be over empty now?

Any ideas

good old mk 5,6 petrol gauges, my estate car can go from empty to half full on a left hand bend or vice versa bet you parked wid 2 wheels on the curb aswell

Ive had it over a year and its been fine.
And no it wasnt parked funny, its always parked flat.

So since its obviously not broken its going to be a simple fix i take it?(ive no idea as you can tell)
