A friend at work has a:

Sierra Sapphire Cosworth, Flint Gray, 4wd, 129,000 miles, Full - YES i said FULL FORD service history.

Its had no expense spared on it, never had any after market parts fitted - always Ford only parts when needed.

Completly standard

He's the original 1 owner, bought the car new from Essex Ford (Perrys back in the day)

He's 'thinking' of chopping it in, by neither of us have a clue how much it would be worth......

Any ideas?

 

Depends on the condition, but it would be a shame to break it being 1 owner

Shame about the miles. Engine rebuild will always be on the cards, and they aren't cheap.

 

yeah probs 4-5 considering miles..

half the mileage would prob ad 1-2 k onto it.

On the plus side tho, i think his service history reads like the enclopedia brittanica (sp) - HUGE!

So at one point of another it may have been done.

Some people prob wont pay 5 grand for it. Again its the milage issue and also not having a rebuild will also put people off. But you never know, there might be someone out there that would snap it up

 

Does this car live in Benfleet by any chance?

I know one sounds just like this round the corner from my parents. Same colour, close to Essex ford and he has had it from new. Cant believe it everytime I go home and see it there thinking that would be a good one.

It was always spotless and never seemed to move.

Cant believe it was never stolen back in the 90's either as it was always left outside!!!!

Does that mean whoever buys it will give it some and the engine is likely to go pop? With cars like this slow is never a good thing..
