Ouch!!!!
I'm not looking forward to losing over half my wages on a house. All my wages go on my car and going out!
But like most my age I will have to bite the bullet in the next few years before I'm priced out of the market and forced to live in barracks all my life.
Oh well my car should have the main expensive work done within a year so hopefully I can just do the rest progressively once I have a house!

I'm still not sure I even want a house to live in yet, as I don't mind living in the mess as it is convenient and cheap.
They all want a large deposit with first time buy to rent which is a bummer as I have no savings at present.
But it would be nice to have a property as an investment for later in life so i have a foot on the ladder for if/when I get married and kids

please remember that house prices going up is just so estate agents get a higher commision as even if your house was worth 20 million you still have to more to upgrade to a nicer house
thats the part in property we all ignore as braging about the value of your home sounds better
i would NEVER pay over 50% of my wage or over 800 quid on a morgage IF i could rent with no hassles/risks for 300 quid a month
ok its worth more in the future but the actually strain for a return over 25 years,,,,,,,,, you could start a small business and make money money imo
just my opinion though, we only bought our place as we had no other choice living in central london
you lot who live in the sticks would be mental to pay 250k for a house when you can rent a council house for 50 quid a week

I'm paying £530 on mine, I bought just before house prices rocketed, 78k for a 2 bed semi near Heathrow, sold 6 years later for 170k and bought a bigger house for less money near Santa Pod.
I really feel for people trying to get on the housing market nowadays as income hasnt gone up at the same rate as house prices have and its really hard for a lot of people now.

Me and the missus are hoping to buy this year and we are reckoning on £800+ a month for a two bed end of terrace
Wasn't fussed until I worked out we had paid over £13k in rent since we moved in together
