Currently £0
I was thinking about putting money down on a house this year, but with the current trend in house prices (leveling off) i dont see that there is much need to rush out a buy a property for the sake of it. I feel that this only becomes necessary when the cost of living in your own home (ie food, water, gas, eletric + council tax) is less than the increase of the value of the house.
For example it may cost me say £130 council tax a month, £150 food and £100 on the rest, unless the house prices are on the up by £300-400 a month I cant see the point of investing at the moment as i would be losing money! Well thats my exause for buying a cossie next time the misses asks anyway

i knwo we can afford it, although its gonna be a shock to the system as at the moment we are saving for the deposit, but at the same time, we are spending the rest of our money like water!
so who has a mortgage with what company?

if you cant save for a deposit then how in all honesty can you buy a place an pay a morgage and still pay for repairs ect if there was any,,,,,,, not to mention actually furnishing the place
not a dig at you but from a real point of veiw if you cant spend 1 year saving a 10k deposit then how do you think you will cope when you buy a place
all that happens is alot of people buy a place, strugle foa year or so and then get so stressed and on some ocasions they stray from the nest as they balme the other half for the being tied in and wanna move home and ejoy life like they used to and then the house goes for sale,,,,,, they sell up and at the moment they manage to clear the debts with the extra they make of the place,,,,,,,,,,,, but they actually loose money just like renting and then when they are more stable they buy a place when they are actually bored of the clubbing ect and actuall enjoy going for a meal once a month rather than clubbing
also when you get older you wage gets beter ect
just think what could happen if you ever had a kid on the way too,,,,,, thats ment to be a happy time not a " oh fuck your prenant,,,, should we keep it" time
i know im negative but theres soo much stress in house buying that i dont think its worth in round london UNLESS you are financially secure
all i said was we can afford it, as in we could probably afford the repayments although they are a lot of money but its possible.....but the bank doesnt always lend people the amount of money they need because its done on joint incomes etc x3 or something?!
you dont know mine or my girlfriends financial situation! - all i said was we were saving witha view to move out in a year - now im getting 'how do you expect to cope?! you are rushing into things!? how can you afford this and that etc?! one of you will run off with another person and when you got a kid you will end up with the abortion question time etc - wtf?!?
We have been saving for a while, the reason being is because we have both had debt of some sort - we have now been clear of debt for a few years, and so we are saving and enjoying ourselves at the same time.
I am currently spending money like water as I own a cossie - before i had the cossie i had a crap paid job yet i only spent about 20% of my take home wages - the rest was saved or put away for other things <including the cossie>. If the cossie needs to go when we buy a house then it goes - simple but for now its staying. Im not going to do nothing for a year or 2 jsut to buy a house....not yet anyway
We have been thinking of moving out for the last 2 years - we know that its not an easy ride because we are not completely stupid
And also not everyone can afford to save a 10k deposit but they still manage to move out dont they?! We wanna save a deposit, and so far we have, we just wanted an idea of how much the repayments are for what total mortgage that has been borrowed.
im sorry if you take this the wrong way fella but i have taken a bit of offence to your comments - im not a brain less tw@t although it seems i am being made out to be one!
sorry i posted

fingerZ it wasnt a commet to talk down and be little you and be nasty, i was saying in generally as i feel people are allowed to over stretch them selves and as a result they dont get the house they want as the prices of em just go up at the same time aswell
sorry for offending you, it wasnt based at you personally just used as a example,,,, im truly sorry
