I work for a government funded organisation that assesses and arranges training for lifeskills and employment for disadvantaged people. Asylum seekers and people born outside of the UK make up about 80% of the people we deal with. We have to know everything about them and their circumstances to gain the correct funding so I think i'm qualified to comment MWF.

So how come you are so bothered about them coming to the UK and not settling in another country? Surely this is an issue with the countries policies (and actions), and not with asylum seekers themselves?

I am as compassionate as the next man so if someone is a genuine asylum seeker and want to work and pay their way then fine.
