Saph 4x4 engines were produced from late 1989-1992:

YBJ = RED cam cover - this was the Euro 1504 emisions specification engine.

YBG = GREEN cam cover, these later spec engines conformed to the stricter US 83 emisions standard.

The above is from my ref books BUT.....some further info from a past thread::

NOT true

In the UK, Germany, Italy, Belgium etc. the saff's from 1990 till 1992 got a Red Top engine (1504).
The 92-spec saff's (with the facelift dash) got standard a Green Top (US 83) engine.

And, i've got this:

And it say's (in Dutch and check the date ) :

I drive a 1990 Greentop for the scandinavian market.

Heated front screen and heated seats are both great things to have when it gets chilly outside.

Dough Stirling pasted what Mr.Frod wrote:

That shurely can't be correct info. I really doubt that Germany had redtops from 1990 as I got the feeling the are strict on emissions like Sweden and therefor demanded catalytic converters ie greentop from 1989-90 and onwards.
