Insurance Occupation Question - Risk levels ??
Anyone got a list of occupations that the insurance companys use for rating the level of risk that job is ??
Would be interesting to see what jobs are the highest risk causing our insurance premiums to be high. Do they make that much of a difference ?

Always wondered about this myself, always thought there might be a certain spin one could put on one's occupation in order to save a few quid. So anyone got any stats on this????

Media work seems to be one of the worst. Any one who works in TV or Radio is deemed to be almost uninsurable. Cant really see why, but i think they expect the guy who reads the news on local radio will be giving Paul McCartney a lift home!
Any others?

Teachers are very cheap
Dad always had cheap insurance being a teacher and was told he was a very low risk by a couple of insurance brokers. Then went with a specialist teacher one and got it even cheaper.
Oh and from memory anyone in the forces was very high. This was due to lack of regular time driving (e.g away at sea for 6 months, abroad) and "culture", whatever that means. Get home and want to get back to family and friends ASAP.

I tried driving my car from one end of the base to the other to give jumpstarts (some fools don't disconnect thier battery even thougth they know its a 12 week trip!) and I couldn't read the plate of the car 10m in front, let alone focus properly beyond 50m. It was dangerous at 30mph so god knows how unsafe 70 plus would be.
Your eyes re-adjust after a couple of days.
