Default FTAO LeeReynolds (and others who thinks carbon is blingy)

This arrived for me this morning

13"x7" solid Carbon Fibre snare drum - just under 1/4" thick, multiple layer carbon fibre weave Super highgloss lacquer outside, virtually unfinished inside (got a really thin clear lacquer inside, to smooth it out a bit tho) Handmade in the good old US of A

The thing is a fooking WEAPON I stopped playing it abotu 2hrs ago but my ears are still ringing!

Trust me, Carbon Fibre is an EXCELLENT material for drums

Not yet - I haven't decided Lee. I think we're gonna try to come to a comprimise/agreement which will probably see me there till at least the end of Feb, kind of a trial thing. Things go well, I'll carry on. Things go south, I walk

Snare for you.... Hmm. Well, it's gotta be a 14" (most standard head size, replacement heads are ALWAYS in stock all over the place (even I have em in stock ) And I think you need a good quality steel snare, not a wood one. Basically because steel is cheaper, and a high quality wood snare needs to be either maple or birch - both of which are expensive! For example, a Pearl Maple snare will set you back Ł382!!!

And I think I have just the snare for you! I have a Tama 14"x5.5" steel snare drum. It's not top-top of the line (those are reserved for the hammered steel or brass/bell brass snares, for Ł200-Ł1800 (yes, thats not a typo, the Tama Bell Brass snare retails at over Ł1800 )

It's semi pro level, 14x5.5, nickel plated steel shell, 2.3mm superhoops, Tama's legendary "Snappy" strainer with pro level lugs and snare butt.

Looks very very much like this one;

But the main body of the shell is darker as it's nickel plated, so it's like a smoke-chrome finish (I'll get a pic of it 2morrow at work)

And I can do it for a good price for you too.... But I won't say here, not sure it is allowed (even tho it's not car/car bit sales ) You'll have PM....

Nah seriously, the snare is the most important part of the kit. A lackluster snare lets the entire kit down, and will hamper your playing, from a mental point of view. Get a good snare and tune it well, get it sounding great and you WILL play better, as it sounds metter and makes you feel better about your playing. Sounds silly, but it is true!

I have 4 of the fookers at the mo, but thats good for me as it means I am three down from before

But then, I'm a snare whore

Actually, I love it It's got a metal flake style flip in it, kinda like a sparkle, and it flips light to dark pink, almost purply at time... and the black hardware sets it right off

It is a bit but still hella cool

I thought that looked a bit large for a dump valve.

very though,.. the old man was a drummer..silver disc and 8 albums, played at Isle of white fest with Mr. Jagger and all that. Too many years ago now they all wore big flares with big tashes
