they cost alot, limited ratios.

zoo offer the jag diff for power uprages.

My choice that I'd offer is an 8.8 ford ally cased unit. lighter than both of the above and stronger with far more gear ratio options, still alot of money though.

what do you want from the car and what power do you need to support?

just wondering if it was worth getting hold of one as an upgrade to handle bigger power. issues such as it fitting (or not ) into the rear beam etc. am really looking at ease of fitting without changing or modding the rear beam too much and even if it fits, will it do the job any better than say a rebuilt standard unit with atb diff or the jag item

The advantage is that they bolt directly into the back of a 2wd cos but as Danny has mentioned they're not cheap!

Danny, spill the beans on the 8.8 unit... i thought that was a live ford axle from the mustang.

This is my one ,

Fitted with an X-trac plated diff assembly . Be careful if you buy one and want to make a ratio change as the carriers are unique to "lower " & " higher " sets , i.e up to 4.4 and below it , as ive just found out !!
Bastard expensive , but a fit and forget item for my uses .

3.62 I think. The 9' is also available in 3.9 and 4.4 I believe.

the 3.9 and 4.4 are cheaper as people always want the 3.6 as I remember.

Best check all this though mate as I am a bit of a donut

Engine / gearbox turns the pinion, the bigger the number the more times the engine has to turn for the same number of wheel revs.

These are all ratio'sfor the Ford Alloy 8.8 unit, Yes they do the live axle to which my car used but for track this is what I'd recomend as they are so servicable and strong. I can supply these new, with regard fitment though it has not yet been out into a cossie bean but wouldn't be a major job.
