Default Graphics card for DVD playback....

..i have noticed that my Sony DVD player gives a way better picture than the PC DVD player any ideas as to why????I use Power Cinema for playback....i assume its the graphics card which does the quality?????Mind i got a ATi Radeon with 128mb of onboard ram......or is it the DVD software?..In which case what is the BEST software for playback?

you're imagining it, simple as...

your TV is MUCH lower quality than your PC monitor, so it blurs the edges more and makes it appear to be nicer.

hardware/software cant make any difference, all you're doing is decoding an MPEG2 stream

Jim if i was talking DVi vs Scart then the PC should be better or as good as the Sony player.

..i am talking from plugging the PC in via the VGA socket compared to DVD scart....it is deffo a less sharp picture from the PC DVD

and the connetion is MORE clear not less clear, you just notic the imperfections more.

unless the digital input signal part of your TV is complete shite which i doubt
