Default High Definition TV

...just had to buy the Sony 50in rear pro LCD jobby...after much looking into TV's i found this was the best value for money out there...But be warned you need a very good source to get the best out of it!...Watch say UK Gold and its pixelly put a premium channel on and very nice...BUT what i bought it for was HiDef as my purpose built PC has the connections to view some content.

When i looked at HD feeds in shops this TV was virtually as good as a 6k plasma running a 1280 x 720p resolution At home in darkness the HD trailors are just staggering The detail is amazing you could just put your hand in the screen its that real...Be prepared guys to be STUNNED when you see it for yourself!

My PC is great on a 50in very sharp and clear text much better than any monitor i seen and the porn downloads are lovely its like having that dirty ho in your lounge

...oh and to go with it a sony home cinema kit 1000watt boy does it shake the room

Jim you plank...its hooked up to a PC via DVi and there are MANY downloads of High Definition footage

Lil me.......i doubt Sky will do it right LOL...but mucho to download Plus i have all the euro sat setup so will be upgraging to a euro hd box aswell.

Croppy this TV has a VGA in Looks superb but you can only get 1024 x 768 res via it...go in the hdmi port and you can get the perfect 1280 x 720p ...will also run at 1080i

Rudey exactly all these hi tec TV's look shit if the feed is shite..they need a GOOD source.

..i run DVi to HDMi...staggering picture on PC.

Also remember Jim Galbally that if you buy the premium XBOX 360 pack you get a HD cable as some games actually run 720p or 1080i

I keep forgetting I'm a moderator.

I'm pretty sure Eagle and Mrs Banchester will want to go with me.

We could even get T-Shirts made up.

No readily avalible TV's will show 1080 line images so atm its pretty pointless. The HD ready logo means it will be able to scale that down to 720 or 540. 1920x1080 is needed.

So what you're all saying is that having HDTV at the moment is a bit like me carrying condoms?

I'll never give up hope.

Anyway, when am i invited round to watch a movie? Something romantic like a romcom with Tom Hanks.

Paul hence why i quoted 1080i....INTERLACED not 1080p PROGRESSIVE

Indeed a 1900 x 1080 screen is needed BUT its highly unlikely HD in the UK will EVER go 1080P.......

Paddy if you hook a PC or XBOX up then its needed...if you play DVD's it will also upscale so std films will look better too. (if connected to the HDMi port!

Phil 1080 lines is 1080 lines regardless of if the are progressive or interlaced

1080i is the american standard for HD where-as windows media have adopted 1080p, which is huge and will almost certainly never be broadcast.
