Yeah maybe your right there im not 100% with computers but providing your pc is under 2 years old i cant see it not accepting a 1gb stick and too be honest thats all you need nowadays.

Ive got 512ddr ram in mine and its plently quick enough for what i use it for, internet etc but i dont use it for gaming, 1gb+ is probably best for that.

Depends what your using your pc for really?

How much ram has yours got in it now?

Try here, see if your p.c is listed:

http://www.crucial.com/uk/

You MAY see the motherboard model number as the P.C starts up, on the black screen

Like i said what do you use your computer for? and do you know the spec of it now? ram and processor speed?

If your processor is good then all you'd need is more ram and your away, no point buying a whole new machine

what make is your mother board??
ive just bought some ddr for mine and wasnt sure what to put in it
i just went on my motherboard home page typed in the number and
found the spec out
turns out i cant use 1gig sticks, and a max of 2 gig so i got 4 512's instead but can use ddr 400 instead of the 266 that was in it.
also there maybe new drivers for ya board on the site
