Yeah maybe your right there im not 100% with computers but providing your pc is under 2 years old i cant see it not accepting a 1gb stick and too be honest thats all you need nowadays.
Ive got 512ddr ram in mine and its plently quick enough for what i use it for, internet etc but i dont use it for gaming, 1gb+ is probably best for that.
Depends what your using your pc for really?
