Stu.H
full closure alarm if the keys are in the ignition and the drivers door
closes via wind auto jack cuts in .after 4 to 8 seconds the car will lock it self up
with the engine running as well mine does it
you can normally change the jumpers on the main alarm box to disable it
but it is handy in the Lebanon & most uk towns on a saph if you have
different door boot keys ALWAYS KEEP A SPARE BOOT KEY @HOME
open the boot pull the seat tags YOUR INSIDE
MY CARS GOT A 2 FOOT AROUND MICROWAVE PERIMETER SCANNER
PIEZO BEEPER UNDER the bonnet you enter the area
starts bleeping
it was a test job me and a mate did for lazerline in runcorn ..
better than all there JOBS

An alarm is ONLY as good as teh installer. End of story.
Most modern alarms are pretty good, and they are all relatively simple devices, what causes problems is the idiots who install to the minimum time possible to get maximum profit instead of to the maximum quality possible for teh customer. The main triggers of most any alarm simply relies on voltage sensing, so your alarm is in essence a large multi input multimeter, and because of this, any tw@ who twists wires together and uses scotchloks and bullets on the signal feeds needs to be sacked and get a job at McDonalds where his skills will be utilised at least 50%
Clifford G series for me, but only if pro installed, and usually that means more than 1 day installation. If your installer seems suspect and likely to rush, you may as well buy something cheap and crap as thats what your clifford will be if installed by a monkey

I agree with Stu, i had my Clifford G4 concept 600 installed in my Astra GTE about 4-5 years ago professionally had a few teathing problems at the start that were sorted by the shop under warrenty.
When sold the car i had the alarm put into my Saff (again professionally)and it's been fine since (3.5 years later )
I know alot of people who have had problems with their Cliffords but i really think it's down to the quality of the installer IMO

My installer asks to keep teh car an extra day so he can simulate rain with water etc and trial it with customers etc walking by it so as to get it set correctly for the REAL WORLD not a 5 min dry workshop test.

Yup spot on stu, they took time to test it properly too, but they still said the sensors might still need time to 'bed in' and to bring it back if i wanted it adjusted.
When i took it back about a week later to adjust the outer proximity a little bit, i was in and out in 15mins
I've never had to touch it since
I had to have a new blipper antena too as it lost the range so you had to be right next to it to turn in on & off again. That was done under warrenty and took about 20 mins.
So personally, i'd recommend Clifford but only if it's put in properly

The Clifford that was in my RS when I bought it was absolute shite, but when I started stripping it out it looked like it was only that bad becasue of who had fitted it.
The bloke who fitted my Toad was actually quite shocked at how bad the fitting was and had the car for an extra day to replace and renew some of the wiring loom behind the dash as well as fitting the alarm
I've never had a prob with my alarm, only the occasional false alarm in the wind when I fitted my S1 quarter windows (the windows didn't seal enough and the wind was coming through)
I've had Toad in most of my cars and they are good so I'm probably biased lol, but then the same bloke has fitted all of them and he was superb
