What started the "conflict" between PF and Scoobyn
Just reading Andy's thread (Series1ajc) and it got me thinking, what actually started the conflict between Scoobynet and PF??
I mean when my mates cossie got nicked more people from Scoobynet offered to come help us look for it after it had been spotted than guys of PF did, so IMO they aint a bad bunch of guys, ye I know theres the whole "scooby" vs "cossie" saga but why do both sites always try to wind each other up???
This isnt a dig btw, merely a question pmsl...brains on overtime stuck in shitty work

PassionFord Post Whore!!
It's all a bit of light hearted banter imo.
www.scoobyslayers.co.uk was intended to be completely tongue in cheek but the post it generated on scoobynet brought out quite a few blinkered opinions on both sides of the fence
A bit of rivalry is healthy

There is no rivalry..... Scoobs are just better!!!
Seriously though..... it's all banter (well I think I can say that as the majority view of ScoobyNet). Of course you do always get the small minority that give it a large portion...... but the car fraternity hasnt got the copyright on that one!

seems to be alot of people moaning about conflicts of all sizes...
sometimes conflict is good....especially when its as harmless as on a forums etc.....over a car. lol
as they say, harmless rivalry......it makes life interesting, and spurs these cossie owners (and scoob owners) into making more out of their cars no doubt!!!

ScoobyNet can be split into 3 categories.
There's the folk on SN who have previously owned Fords and the majority still have a soft spot for a Ford.
There's others who aren't blinkered and appreciate all performance cars and understand the merits of each car, like power to weight ratio etc etc
Then there's the rest - who truly believe that an Impreza is the best car ever to be produced.... nothing can beat it... nothing can stay with it in the twisties... and they are convinced that everyone who doesn't own a Scoob is jealous of them. They won't accept that Scoobs have become common now and are the favourite cars for the chavs because of the spiralling depreciation. Just take a look at Autotrader, there's 100s & 100s of them for sale. Just between Ł2k and Ł4k there's 200 advertised.

I think you get general banter on every site between other sites, it's all part of the fun apart from the MLR where they're a bunch of boring cooonts

Absolutely spot on there Lynne
Same over here though. I think it's true for a lot of forums, although surprisingly, the MR2 lot absolutely love my cossie!
I think it stems from the fact that the scoob and the Escort Cossie came out roughly around the same time, and the scoob dominated world rallying where the Escort did not. Die hard Ford fans, so used to seeing anything Cosworth powered doing well on the track/in the forests probably got a little put out by the emergence of such an iconic car so quickly.

The Esc Cos will always hold on to the tag of being an icon, a classic car with heritage, current prices reflect that, whereas, similarly aged scoobs have either gone to a scrapyard or are being sold for ridiculously low prices now.
I only think of a Scoob's heritage being in the rallying scene, nothing else.
