Posting for a mate, hes got a astra gsi turbo , 2003 model, and hes gone threw 2 sets of tyres in a year the tyres have all gone on the inside and the partly on the inside wall
He has had the tracking , wheel alinment and balancing done a few times and that didnt help
So he asked about it at a garage and they said its cause the wheels are to big 18", when he bought the car it come with 17" standard
So any advise would be apriciated thanks

Wearing the inside edge is generally due to:
incorrect tracking
incorrect camber
cornering hard, and especially booting it out of junctions and roundabouts in first when you dont have the traction
He probably just drives like a wanker
18 or 17 should make no significant different to wear rate providing they are similar width.
